Britannia Basin

A competition for contemporary canal side apartments where site access and construction issues were difficult. The proposal utilised the canal for deliveries and waste disposal by using barges to deliver prefabricated building components for the cross wall structure - pre-cast concrete, the cladding - composite timber and aluminium glazed elements, and interior fit out - components based on our Live Work Unit 1 ( see project 251) along the party walls. The combination of the cross wall structure and serviced wall creates open plan flexible living spaces for all units.
